The concept of Trekking is not new and specially when you talk about the Himachal Pradesh the first thing comes to your mind is high peak mountain treks and snow everywhere but there is many more than this in the lap of Himalayas...
As we move forward on our way to Kalgha from Bhuntar the air was changed the roads got narrowed the mountains became extra giant and breeze became some extra cool we knew this was just an start and things will become much more interesting once we reach the Bharshaini ,the snowy peaks are now visible from far away . After along 14 hour journey from New Delhi I was finally in kaalgha my first stop or we can say base camp .
Himachal is known for various things and culture but there are many hidden secrets of the state which we don't know for example we all know that we get best hash and Creme in the valley and Malana but what we don't know is that we cannot touch anything in the Malana village and villagers are actually the ancestors of Alexander the great
In the same way we know about the Tosh village but there is one more village which lie opposite to the Toash and known as Kaalgha village it is counted with its subordinate village Pulgha . Kaalgha is the last village which comes on your way when you head towards the Kheerganga or the glacier
This small village situated at an altitude of 2500 meters from sea level has seen the changes in the valley more closely and precisely whether we talk about heavy snow fall, landslides or even a casual visit of Chinese army to look over the place. The villagers are very friendly and always ready to welcome you but what is it to be kept in mind is that the place is completely plastic free and no use of plastic is preferred at the place.
Parvati valley comprises of many different small and big villages
- Kasol
- Manikaran
- Malana
- Chalal
- Bharsaini
- Kalgha
- Pulga
- Tosh
- Kheerganga
- Bhunbhuni
The valley is also known for its cannabis culture and some of the finest cannabis vegetation is being found in the valley
Valley contribute around 20% of the hash which is being consumed in amsterdam and its being transported to various other parts of world too the Malana creme is having its own fan base from all over the world and many tourists just come to smoke this incredible creation of the nature
How To Reach Parvati Valley
Situated In Himachal Pradesh parvati valley gives you a full thrill and adventurous trip if you are starting from New Delhi then it will be an overnight trip and in the morning the bus will drop you at bharshaini at around 6-7 AM whereas if you take the Bus directly for Kasol then you will reach there by 10 am forward your journey . If you take a bus to bharshaini then you move to local transport to enter the valley then it will take an extra couple of hours of bus journey
Kasol:- Is it Over hyped?
Is Kasol really a mini Israel of India or is it just another over hyped place? The answer to this is that it is true Kasol is a over hyped place but if we talk about 10-15 years ago Kasol was the last village which was for the tourists and people used to take night halt in Kasol but after the development of infrastructure and roadways in the valley now you can easily go to Manikaran or tosh for the night halt
Talking about mini Israel so you can see many shops and hotels having their board in Hebrew that's because the Israeli tourists are comparatively much more active in parvati valley so some privilege is to be given. You can find too many Israeli tourists in the valley as they love to chill in mountains and have some creme from Malana or some Tosh ball will be perfect for them. Other than Israeli tourists you will find people from another parts of world too no doubt that it is an international tourist spot.
Kasol is best place to do your last minute shopping of essentials before heading forward to manikaran or Tosh . I personally suggest to fill up your essentials here because after kasol you will find those products in double rate. You will find some good bakery in the village to have some hot brownies some bakery even have hash brownies for you so choose according to your comfort.
Chalal:- Gateway to Rasol Valley
If you have planned to trek to the Rasol then chalal will be your base camp the track goes all the way along the riverside to chalal, it will take around 30-50 minutes to reach chalal and another 8 hour trekk to rasol . The most difficult part of rasol trek comes after chalal so its recommended to trek this portion in the day light
Morning view from chalal |
there are some good home stays and camping facility availaible in chalal at cheap rates you can stay there and enjoy the beauty of the valley.
Manikaran:- The holy place
Manikaran is best known for two things i.e Hot Water Spring and Manikaran sheb gurudwara making the the place a holy destination for many people you will see many families coming there because of their beilf in respective culture . The place is very happening and always full of crowd so you will easily find your mode of transportation to and from manikaran and variety of food is availaible in this small town .
Natural Hot Water Spring comes all the way from Kheerganga and as positive side of the spring manikaran will make you feel warm and comfortable take a hot spring bath to relax your muscles and tiredness because real adventure begin from here.
You can also make a night halt at the place but as per my personal suggestion you should not, rather than that you should go to Kalgha an another 2 hour journey from manikaran or if you are having much time you can head directly to Tosh.
This is it by now Stay tuned for the part two of the trek and the most dangerous ones😜😜
