When you head foward from Manikaran you will observe a little less traffic on the road and nno BUS will be operating from here after all you can hire is a small taxi or a mini bus which will drop you at bharsaini as it is the last accessible town in the valley and from here after you have to trek to reach any of your destination . In the way to bharrsaini from kasol you will see many under developing tunnels a good sign of VIKAS though 😂😂
Kalgha is located on the top left side of the image while right bottom cornor is Pulgha Village |
The walk in a heavy snow is not that easy so please carry your trekking boots to enjoy the long walks in the valley. After deboardding at bharsaini you are having two paths to go either you can move to Tosh if you want a more comfortable and simple trek but usually Tosh is more crowded place as compare to kalgha and pulgha. Let me show you guys with the help of the Image below
In the above image you can see three destinations i.e A- Bharsaini B- Kalgha, Tosh and Kheerganga so if you are planning to go to kheerganga then head towaards kalgha just 30 minutes heavy steep trek from bharshaini then you don't have to change the mountain when you head towards the kheerganga camping. You will find many places to stay in Kalgha at a very cheap accommodation my personal preferences to stay are these three
- The Himalayan Cafe
- Into The Wild
- Lost and Found
Kaalgha Village |
The beautiful morning wakes you up ,You open the door of your room and found the white gold all infront of you and bright shiny light from sun is melting the snow slowly ,This epic view is dream of many which you are living up there so enjoy your fullest.
After having some heavy breakfast you will head toward the kheerganga. Point to be noted* If you are travelling at the time of peak snow or heavy snowfall then you might not get to the kheerganga as it will be closed at that period of time. After leaving for kheerganga all you gonna meet is some wild animals , forest and lots of snow very rarely you will meet other trekkers on the way. The path to the kheerganga is very narrow and you have walk very cautiously along the way as a minor fault will cause you a big injury. You will spot a total of 5 small and Big waterfalls on the way to kheerganga which will embrace you with their cold and sparkling water
As we were trekking in heavy snow we were also having three companions with us DenSingh and Tsunami and ZEZHA two german shephard and one pug its good to have a mountain dog with you they will hep you to choose your way and they will walk along with you just for your safety .We also had many advantage of having them with us as they were helping us to fix our path. Due to heavy snowfall all the trek routes were hidden and we didn't know which way we have to move then den singh and zeezha took over the trek and guided us to which way we have to go.
Talking about adventure so you can see in the picture above that we crossed the bridge of wooden planks covered with snow all over . if you are having experience of treking in snow before then you can assumme the thrills of the trek easily . If you go in off season when there is no or very less snow then you will see a completly diffrent scenery with green apple trees all over the valley
Famous Treks of the valley
Parvati valley is not only famous for kheerganga trek but also for many other treks like:-
- Pin parvati trek ( 11 day trek )
- Chalal-Rasol trek (2 days)
- Grahan-Sar pass-Pulgha trek (6 days)
- Bhunbhuni trek (1 day)
- Bijli Mahadev (2 days)
- Malana Village (1 day)
Pin Paravati Trek
Pin Parvati trek is the longest trek of the valley and you can't go alone on that one it starts from Manikaran and ends at Kazha it takes a full of 11 days to reach parvati parvat and trek back and you have to take all the essentials with along as you have to make your own camps, cook your own food and your safety is in your hands .Porters are available for the trek contact me if you wanna go to pin paravt in off season.many solo hikers have been disappeared on the trek and not being found till now neither dead nor alive its because the trek is having many difficulties, you cannot just predict the weather it can get worse anytime and you won't even find a shelter to hide beneath so these problems makes this trek one of the difficult treks to go upon
Chalal-Rasol Trek
If you are not that professional in trekking and want to start it as just for some adventure and getting some good stuff then Rasol trek is on of the best this 2 trek will not only give you some thrills for hiking but also some bare long grasslands to camp upon and some good old marijuana forests to get good Stuff
As mentioned in my earlier blog parvati valley the magic of mountains that if you start from kasol the hard part start after chalal. here the hard means refers to steep hikes and some rock climbing but because being used on daily basis the pathway is very accessible and the chances of getting lost in the Jungle is minimized. You will get options for night camping in rasol if you arre not carrying your own camps but you have to pay a wholesome amount for camp ,dinner and breakfast at the rasol top on the otheer hand the view is worth it all the money .
Grahan-Sar Pass-Pulgha Trek
Grahan sar pass pulga trek is very famous among those who are fond of kasol village and love to go there, the trek starts from kasol which leads to grahan village generally people start from kasol and make a night stay at grahan and return back to kasol but what I prefer is get to grahan got to Sar pass and then end your trek in Pulgha. This is a whole trek of 6 days and will include small villages like grahan, nagaru Pulgha and places like Sar Pass Biskeri Thatch Mini Thatch
reaching grahan from kasol is very easy and you can cross it easily the whole trek is morderatly difficult and at most of the locations you will find home stays and resting places but from nagaru to Biskeri thatch you will not find any easy accommodation as there are no villages in those areas and only sheet of snow is spread everywhere.
usually the weather sometimes gets worse because of the air pressure and snow fall, this makes the condition more challenging and hard to complete the trek.
we completed the trek in very worse weather and finally when we reached pulgha we were not able to spot the sar pass top because the weather got more worse and heavy rainfall started again. this trek will not cost you more than 10k
Bhunbhuni trek
Bhunbhuni is a small grassland situated 3 hours trek from Kaalgha village which gives you a full 180 degree view of sky which looks very beautiful in the night time , millions of stars makes the sky glow naturally. if you are planning a small trek from kaalgha then bhunbhuni will be best for you or else if your passion is sky photography then its your heaven but you have to carry your own camping and other accommodation as you wont find anything there
If you ae planning to go bhunbhuni from kaalgha you can rent out all necessary things from Lost and found cafe or THC cafe these places are also having experienced guids to take you to bhunbhuni
Biijli mahadev and malana village treks are just casual one day hikings to a temple of lord shiva and malana village both the places have their own respective importance, rules and regulations which is to be followed on daily basis.
The bijli mahadev temple is located on the hill top and gives you a mesmerizing view and on the other hand in the malana village you will get to know how ancient lively hood is conserved and practiced as the villagers claims that they are ancestors of Alexander the great.
There is so much more hidden in the lap of parvati valley and which you can explore live trek and enjoy...
